Motivation

How do basic motivations to move towards or away from stimuli affect human behavior and neural patterns? The lab investigates this question on a state and trait level.

Emotion

Emotions & motivation are inextricably tied. How do affective state varying in valence and motivational direction affect human behavior, cognition, and neural responses?

Cognition

Cognitive processes (such as attention, decision making, and time perception) are impacted by emotional and motivational states.

Rigor and best practices in psychophysiological methods are essential to advancing the science of psychology and the understanding of the functioning human brain.
